BROWS
Located in the urban area of Kolonaki in Athens city center, Brows is a permanent makeup and medical micro-pigmentation clinic. The basis of the project was founded as a balance, between resolving several restrictions in the geometry of the existing shell and at the same time finding a suitable visual identity to appropriately interpret the new use accommodated. As such, the space was conceived as a simple but distinctive, exterior frame of clean white marble, leading to an engaging cave-like interior. Organic forms, such as a ripple-like pattern on the roof and free-form curves were incorporated, as means to convey the character of the use, whilst at the same time assimilating multiple irregularities in the existing shell (staircases, inclined roofs etc.). Thus formulating small passages leading to the several micro-spaces of the facility, in an effortless flow of movement. The basic ‘skin’ of the interior is dressed in white, using local greek marble and lacquered surfaces with a striped-linear pattern – in combination with oak wood used as a warmer material leading to the inner heart of the space, while highlighting several interior details and forms.
