RESIDENTIAL PHOTO SHOOT PREP GUIDE

SHOT LIST
It is extremely helpful to create an organized shot list before the shoot day. Your shot list should be listed in order of priority so that if time or circumstances do not allow us to create all shots, you will have the most important shots finished first.
TIMING
If exterior shots are desired, we will need to factor in the best time of day for those photos and adjust our interior shot times accordingly.
SHOOTING PROCESS
We’ll go over your desired shot list and order, based on shot priority and light. Then, I will set up each composition on my camera and you can view it on my iPad screen. We can check the styling/decor and position of furniture, draperies, and any other details before I take the shots.
STYLING
Sometimes, styling on the day of the shoot cannot be avoided, but any preparation and organization that can be done in advance will save a lot of time and disruption on the shoot day. This is a normal and expected part of the photo shoot process.
SCOUTING & LIGHTING/TIME OF DAY
For long shot lists and multi-day shoots, it is helpful to scout the location in advance and make a well-planned shot list. This will save time on the shoot day, making for a smoother, more efficient shoot.
A CLEAN HOME
A home should be clean and ready to photograph. Dust and hair take a very long time to retouch. Excessive dirt, dust, dirty windows, and debris may require an additional retouching charge.
PERISHABLE PROPS
Flowers, plants, food, and drinks can be a nice touch in a kitchen or other space.
